In School Field Trips

In this Preschool program, we focus on observing, comparing and classifying animals and their environments. We look at what they need to live and grow in their environment. We also play sensory games that help us put some of the animals into categories. The students will get to make their very own feathery friend to take home! Standards we focus on: CD14M

In this Kindergarten program, we observe the differences between humans, plants, and animals. We also look into how to identify living and non-living things in terms of their: structure, growth, changes, movement, and basic needs! We dig through the dirt to meet some wiggly friends and the students will receive their very own superworm pet and plant! The standards we focus on: LS.K.1.1, LS.K.2

In this First Grade program, we identify the basic needs of any living organism and talk about how they survive in different ecosystems. We talk about what an ecosystem is and what animals inhabit them. The students will then create their own ecosystem to take home and add a few animals to inhabit it.

In this Second Grade program, we compare and contrast the features of a variety of animals and identify their physical characteristics. We also dive into understanding animal life cycles and comparing how different and alike they are. After observing some model and live lifecycles, the students will get a new pet that will go through a life cycle of it’s own.

In this Third Grade program we take a look under the skin and experience the parts of an animal we usually can't see. We talk about different body systems using real organs and learn about why skin is so important for us to have. (This program includes preserved animal organs). The students will get to make and take home their very own skin friend! The standards we focus on: LS.3.1

In this event we explore the world of weather and see how it changes from day to day and month to month. The children get to make lightening in the classroom, eat a real cloud and make some cloud slime that they get to take home!

The standard we focus on is: ESS.K.1

In this event, we travel to outer space to explore the difference between orbiting and rotating! We look at models that help us understand why we have day and night and identify a few things we might see in the night sky! We make our own constellations and even get to set off a water rocket that goes 350 feet in the air!

In this event we explain how some forces can be used to move objects without touching them. We experiment with air, magnets and the center of gravity! The students get to walk through a magical floating balloon ring and take home a balancing bird!

In this event, we look at the properties of a solid, a liquid, and a gas and compare them! We do a few explosive experiments to see what happens when you mix a solid and a liquid and even mix a few liquids that make a brand new substance that we get to take home!

The standard we focus on is: PS.2.1

In this event we explore the connection between sound and vibrations! We perform a few experiments that help us see how sound can sometimes move objects without touching them. After our experiments we make our own instrument to take home!

In this event, we identify solids, liquids and gasses and we talk about the difference in their molecules and how they take up space! We do a few experiments that show us ways that matter can change and even get to make a sweet treat while we do it!

The standard we focus on is: PS.3.1

In this event, we take a trek through different land structures and see how they are made! We do experiments to see what erosion can do over time and what happens when one tectonic plate goes under another. Then we make a volcanic substance that we get to take home!
